Where your data lives

Altar stores your settings, streak, saved verses, highlights, bookmarks, memorise deck, prayer journal, challenge progress and Prayer Lock settings in two places on your iPhone:

• Altar’s private app storage, which only Altar can read; and
• an App Group (group.com.elaq.altar) shared only with Altar’s own widgets and Screen Time extensions, so they can show your verse and streak and apply your locks.

We have no server and no copy. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, that backup may include Altar’s data, held by Apple under your Apple Account.

How to erase it

1. Touch and hold the Altar icon on your Home Screen.
2. Tap Remove App, then Delete App.

iOS deletes Altar’s storage and the App Group with it, removes the widgets, and lifts any Prayer Lock. That’s everything. There is nothing left on our side to ask us to delete.

How to revoke Screen Time access

Prayer Lock only works with the Screen Time permission you gave it. To take that back, either:

• open Settings › Screen Time and remove Altar’s access; or
• delete Altar.

Either way, every lock Altar set is removed. If you just want a break, you can switch Prayer Lock off in Altar’s Lock tab instead.

Altar never had your app names or usage to begin with: Screen Time gives it sealed tokens, not names. Read more in the privacy policy.

Photos and notifications

Altar’s Photos access is add-only, used to save wallpapers. Change it in Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos › Altar. Reminders are local notifications; turn them off in Settings › Notifications › Altar.

How to manage your subscription

1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
2. Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
3. Choose Altar+ to change plan or cancel.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. For refunds, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple handles all billing; we never see your payment details.
